  "If I am kind, the world might become a kinder place."

  It is a little too neatly packaged to be LGBT-parent positive, but the many wholesome images and food and nature and kind people make it a pleasant watch. Plus, who can blame the director when discrimination and prejudice still keep people from living openly and being treated fairly. The acting by Kisetsu Fujiwara in the first half of the film stood out to me: but I grew to enjoy relative newcomer Hio Miyazawa's turn as an open and proud gay man respecting the process of his partner's divorce and custody settlement. I also had my eye on Wakana Matsumoto's performance as the disgruntled and stressed hardworking mother. The acceptance…

  this movie has everything. hands, longing, keeping the same sweater of your past lover for YEARS even after you’ve separated, finding each other again, a gay farmer, and a tight knit community of old people who love the gays. i love this movie so much and yes i am crying right now.

  Seeing gays longing and yearning for each other and getting a realistic happy ending was everything I needed from this film. So raw, so tender, and so beautiful.

  a very wholesome queer love story, but despite the neatly packaged ending, i feel like the primary question never really got resolved: when the person who you loved the most—and left you when he was your everything—comes back, will you just accept him back?

  this question's not easy to answer, and the answer depends on how much each other's life has changed since the break up. but i don't think it could ever be the same. the kind of love that was built to last can't just be so easily re-built when it was torn apart by the very same person you built it with...
