  This book and movie equally raised me. Definitely the first book I remember obsessively reading, so naturally as a 10-year-old lad this release was a revelation.

  Brie Larson plays the classic insufferable female lead role but she does it WELL. Logan Lerman and that blonde kid who pissed me off on Hannah Montana were also great. As an adult rewatching, my favorite character is easily Jason Schwartzman as the patrol officer.

  Hoot is an environmentalist coming-of-age film clearly catered towards a family audience.

  Basically, kids who loved Hoot grow up to love How To Blow Up A Pipeline.
