Winford and his wife Charlotte are criminals, who end up at a remote ski resort, where a rock star named "Diamond Jim" is performing. Winford and Charlotte steal his diamonds, which were kept in a safe behind the hotel's main desk.

Con artists head to Mattahorn Ski Lodge (California’s Mammoth Mountain) to cool off, but can’t help snagging Diamond Jim’s quarter of a million in jewels from the hotel safe. Hotelier Harvey Shain is the most experienced performer here, a veteran of Dave Friedman period drama nudies and Herschell Gordon Lewis sexploitation. Ed Wood collaborator Stephen C. Apostolof intended this as an R-rated bid for the mainstream, a James Bond caper with some bare boobs, but instead of a big budget heist film, we get an episode of The Love Boat at a ski lodge. Many discussions and hijinks in bedrooms, scenes which were probably directed by Ed Wood, if his involvement is to be believed.
This ridiculous late 70's soft-X heist flick may or may not have been written by the great Edward D. Wood Jr. I'd like to think it was and it certainly feels like one of his screenplays but who knows. What I do know is that this movie is wonderful.

Goofy caper/sexploitation comedy is dire but does have a few unintentional laughs -- in the first scene, one character "traps" an Interpol agent in a closet using the flimsiest chair you've ever seen by leaning it lightly against the door about five inches below the doorknob.
The sexploitation elements are surprisingly low -- another person here called it "soft X," but it's nowhere close. A topless dance at a nightclub is as sexy as it gets. (It's possible one love scene in the version on Tubi is trimmed, though -- but it's hard to tell, given how badly this is made. Otherwise, the participants stay well covered up in bed, and the camera mostly focuses on the dude's back.)

You know that friend that is in a bad rock band and you go over to his place for a few beers and maybe a round of Tekken or 2? When it started I thought it might have been an SCTV parody of espionage films.
