Jesus fucking christ.
Spooktober IV: Morte all'italiana
Morale of the story: if you see a man trying to decapitate a demon-spawn-looking woman in the middle of nowhere, let him do the job because she would more than likely be a horny demon-spawn-looking woman that will ruin your life and literally eat your loved ones (?).
I'm not sure what it says about Argento's career that his only better work during this period was in this show. I'm not sure if it was the limitations, the material, the runtime, or a combination of the three. All the practical effects and makeup made the gore a ghastly thrill to watch. The sex scenes were tantalizing and unsettling in equal measure.
Weber was convincing as a benevolent man whose…
Some small details aside, this is exactly what started happening to Johnny Depp in 2012.
From the legendary director Dario Argento. It doesn’t seem that violent but has a lot of gore! A very twisted perspective. But in a normal environment. The longer the short went the more depressing it got and less and less I liked it. One of the Masters of Horror shorts. I’d say not for everyone but interesting.
Meh. Sinceramente no sé cuál fue el propósito de esto, porque malísimo el capítulo. Ni siquiera por la dirección de Argento se salva.
Master Of Horror Night 🎃
Masters of Horror - Season 1 - Episode 4 - Director: Dario Argento
Police officer Frank Spivey is eating lunch one afternoon when he witnesses a man attempting to kill a bound young woman with a cleaver. He shoots the man and discovers that this is no ordinary girl. Jenifer does not speak and her face is monstrous with abnormally large eyes and a twisted mouth full of sharp teeth. She has the mental capacity of a neglected child so Frank takes her in temporarily until better arrangements can be made. Things are going smoothly until Jenifer gets hungry and Frank learns what she really is.

Dario Argento's entry into the first series of Masters of Horror is far from his best work, but it's dark and weird and mostly interesting for the duration. The film focuses on Frank; a detective who has his lunch break interrupted by a man trying to kill a girl with a meat cleaver. He kills the man, but feels sorry for the girl despite her horrendous disfigurement and can't get her out of his head. He takes her home and that's where his trouble begins! The main problem with this is the clunky script and the fact that the broad arc of the story is obvious right from the start. The film offers a critique both of being too compassionate…
a film about the moral dilemma of wanting to have sex with someone that you know is ugly
Jeez, this was pretty messed up for a TV movie, although it's hardly surprising with Dario Argento behind the lens. "Jenifer" is an hour episode of Showtime's "Masters of Horror" series. This film sees a police officer, Frank Spivey (Steven Weber) have his lunch interrupted as he witnesses a man in a trench coat, kidnapping a woman whilst holding a butcher's knife. He exits his squad car and shoots the man before he can carry out the act, as Spivey approaches the suspect, he breathes his last word: "Jenifer".
However, things only get more complicated when Spivey sees the woman, and is startled by her severely disfigured face, but.......she has a great rack, and Spivey for some reason can't get…

Surprisingly really enjoyed this one. I always thought I wouldn't like this tv show for some reason, the episodes seem uninteresting and underwhelming, but I was clearly mistaken after checking this one out. This bizarre, twisted drama is genuinely unnerving but also a lot of fun, with nice bit of gore and violence with some humor thrown in. Although they sort of make the ending pretty clear from the very beginning, I'm still intrigued in seeing how it plays out and the ridiculousness of the film end up making me intrigued even more. The make-up on Jenifer is both impressive and disturbing.
