  if I had a nickel for everytime the character played by naslen fell in love with a strong independent woman who's three years older than him, i'd have two nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

  The writing and directing make this feel like a 2hr long web series. Some of it is entertaining, and some annoying. Comparisons to Girish AD's movies don't feel right. Because Girish seems to have a better understanding of what a "slice of life" movie is. Characters and events maathram "realistic" aayal pora, ath ezhuthilum samvidhanathilum koode varanam. Jo and Jo don't belong in the same league as Thanner or Sharanya.

  There's more to this rant, but I feel like Jo and Jo isn't an offensively bad movie which warrants that. It's not great, but it isn't unwatchable either. It is peak "chumma kandondirikkam" content, like a webseries.

  Relatable, laid back fun padam.
  And by relatable i don't mean i had any involvement with minor case (atu ente kootukarana i swear) but ya baki kurea incidents okke hemme takes me back.
  Cringe and stuff ind but at the end cringe illandu entu jeevitam. Aa theetam joke onu kurakayirunu, aa sound effectsum.

  Watched FDFS.

  A sweet and simple coming-of-age comedy. Wish I had a sibling in my life.

  P. S. Naslen is definitely going places. Also, Nikhila Vimal deserves to be in more films like this, where she gets to showcase her caliber.

  I don’t support drinking, but the amount of times nikila asks “eniku ntha oru ale premichude?” could vouch for a drinking game.

  Was supposed to be this funny chill movie about people during the lockdown, but somehow the characters fell flat…everyone has their one characteristic that they follow through out the movie( Jomon the anniyan, Jomol the aspiring hardworking independent chechi and Sundaran the misunderstood nishkalangan….).

  I donno why but Naslen reminds me of our Dileep and his mannerisms…athukondu kore okke avande humor work ayi…

  Songsum kollam…

  But, ntho the situations don’t feel real…it’s either too cartoonish or too dramatic…

  Jo and Jo is a Vibe movie where you travel with the characters doing their usual chill stuff - sneaking to smoke, singing Malayalam dubbed Tamil songs, whiling away their time in lockdown, cooking food from YouTube videos, fishing, etc. The premise is very simple and realistic in a lighter tone. This is the nth movie of Johny Antony I'm watching this year and he just scores silently in the supporting role.

  So much pop culture references - Captain Marvel, Darth Vader, Psycho Shammi, etc embedded naturally in conversations. It has the same consistency as Thanneer Mathan Dinangal and Thinkalazcha Nischayam - centred around normal things while Churning out jokes every minute. The up and coming actors are pretty good in everything they're in- Nikhila Vimal, Andrew Thomas and Naslen Gafoor.
