March around the world: Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, and my first film from this country.
It is the story of a young woman named Kelin who, in spite of her love for another, is married to a man she does not love. She then goes to live with her husband, his mother, and his brother.
The film is notable for having virtually no dialogue, which I actually liked, as it added to the atmosphere of the movie. I had no difficulty understanding what was going on, as the visual storytelling and the body language convey the emotions perfectly.
The cinematography is incredible, and captures beautifully the steppes of Kazakhstan.
I found Kelin quite captivating, and I will definitely rewatch it soon.
