Junji Sakamoto directs a 138 minute drama, centered around the kidnap and assassination attempt of an anti-fascist Korean politician.
I don't know where the fictionalized elements start in this one but if bodyguard guy, self defense guy and the journo are made up its not wasted, bodyguard fits in by way of being Korean who can't speak Korean but has Japanese hating mother, army guy is a rightwing nationalist pissed of with the state of things, both are useful losers that are perfect to be thrown on to politician's teams.
Journo guy is so disillusioned he doesn't even believe in slogans anymore.
There alot of talk of US collusion with fascism, the US turning on former puppets, Watergate, Korean re-unification…
