Probably the greatest showcase of football in an Indian film.
also, a great coughing masterclass by Ajay Devgn.
This film is about more than a broken record. It's about a broken heart. Watch it, and yours may break, too.
Had my doubts walking in but I was left pleasantly surprised. Story is a typical underdog type but the stunning direction, excellent performances, great characters, soulful score, exciting screenplay and a emotionally thrilling climax makes Maidaan a highly entertaining watch. Ajay Devgan was fantastic here, powerful portrayal and the direction by Amit Sharma here was spectacular, every match sequence was shot brilliantly particularly the climax, it was beautiful. Saw that there were two cinematographers, one for the normal sequences and the other for the matches, both of them did a fantastic job. The predictability and the runtime was a bit of an issue but I was completely satisfied and blown away by how well crafted and executed this was. Watch it in a big screen, absolutely deserves it!
•If you are a football fan. This is a must watch.
•If you aren't a football fan. It still deserves a watch.
•Very well made and presented Sports Drama.
•Ajay Devgn kicks it out of the park.

What S.A Rahim need is a Blue Lock Project
I feel bad for not knowing about S.A Rahim and the golden age of Indian football, it was a good biographical sport-drama and very informative actually. I never knew that India was actually considered a powerhouse of a team once, and the epithet 'Brazil of Asia' sounds so cool and something to be proud of, I'm not an avid follower of Football in general so idk what really happened after that. The film beautifully showcases the chapter of indian football that has been almost erased from public memory and the montage of real players at the end felt wonderful, the casting looked on-point.
The music was so soothing and wonderful to…
Watched bolo zubaan kesari coughing on screen for a full hour.
baat uss ek haq ki hai jiske wajah se aaj jeene mai maza aa raha hai aur jiski wajah se chain se marpayenge
they didn't have to go this hard for a sports biopic ಥ‿ಥ
and
ar fkin rahman, that last song, the background score aaaa beautiful 🥺🤌
ajay devgan is the most underrated star rn in bollywood, bro is giving wonderful acts for fun 🫡
all the other cast did good as well
didn't like the cinematography much but the football shots and camerawork was brilliant!! ⚽🎥✨
My “AR Rahman is sometimes overrated” debate aged REAL poorly like 2 minutes in
Maidaan has similar cliches that we have seen in many sports dramas before, which could have been used in a better way to provide a gripping cinematic experience. Ajay Devgn holds the fort all alone with his outstanding portrayal of Syed Abdul Rahim, and he alone is worth your penny. it was a good film through, just felt a bit long tbh but fair enough. i don't remember being disappointed with a sports/drama from Bollywood. They always get their ass peaked in those. Maidaan too is not any different.
Team India hain hum 🇮🇳❤⚽
Maidaan is a really well made sports drama which even with its shortcomings, ended up a great experience for me overall. First of all, I’m in utter disbelief that the guy who made Badhaai Ho and a segment of Lust Stories made this film. Bravo, Amit Sharma. What makes this different than the other sports dramas we’ve gotten over the years is the way the football scenes have been shot. The representation of football in Indian films previously has been nothing but average but I was shocked during the football matches in Maidaan. Really well shot and they were exhilarating and engaging to watch. The cinematography was great and the music by ARR deserves enormous amounts of praise. He lifted…
