Got to give it to Vikram Kumar, for structuring and narrating such a complex storyline in an easily accessible manner. Utilizing themes of reincarnation, destiny and eternal love, he creates a solid screenplay filled with good humor, emotions and twists. Akkineni clan takes care of the casting responsibilities and turn it into their family album-project. Ends up a solid drama that is both engaging and entertaining.
Just about as perfect as a wholesome reincarnation family romance can get, I'd wager.
Nagarjuna Akkinenni and Samantha Ruth Prabhu may be the two most comedically gifted stars in Telugu cinema, and they're certainly the anchors here (particularly Nag, who's tasked with tying all the other characters together), but Nageshwara Rao Akkinenni and Shriya Saran are also excellent.
Which brings us to Naga Chaitanya Akkinenni, whom you'd kind of expect to be the turd in the punchbowl given his limitations as an actor, and you'd at least be right that he's the relative weak link. But he's also not bad; he fits much more naturally into the Pete Davidson* dirtbag role than he does the romantic hero he's elsewhere been…
such a goofy movie but so cute. nepotism was created for movies like this
6 years of MANAM: With "Kanulanu Thaake" on loop before release, prepared for CHAY-SAM but SITA-RAMA came out of syllabus and bowled me over!
Monumental doesn't necessarily mean always grandeur in sets or visuals but can be in the very basic family emotions and in this aspect, Manam is once in a lifetime experience that transcended generations both on-screen and off-screen in serving as a perfect swansong for the man who was on song for almost 75 years straight in the industry. Vikram K Kumar, "ilaa ivvu" / "I love you too", "I love you three, I love you four, I love you five"!
"Vinabuddi kavatledu ra babu veedi maatalu"
~ my deedi to Naga Chaitanya at least 10x
A simple and heartwarming tussle with fate.
I absolutely loved the cinematography and soundtrack.
Tysm praveen for dragging me to this 😭
MANAM tells a story that I have never seen before and of course it does so with all the madness that goes with this kind of cinema. Sometimes it loses me a bit, but the passionate performance of Nagarjuna and the teamwork of the Akkineni family, coupled with great songs and a big heart, make it a real feel-good film.
I love you
ante?
adhe, illa ivvu
ps : music is just so top notch(the music track of seetha and rama espicially), as well as the writing! direction too and the acting!
pps : maybe i yam going too deep, butt still lonely people share everything to their pets or talk to themself, just like bittu talking everything to buddy... and naming the dog as buddy, implying that bittu has no friends(like actual) other than that dog and is just full of work and studies!
ppps : feb 14th is popular for 3 things -
1. valentines day
2. mia khalifa birthday
3. manam cinema lo andharu modda gudisina(not literally) rozu.
Anr Lives on❤

once in a lifetime cinema
i love you.
the closest i can get to describing this movie.
every technician, every artist that are involved in filmmaking have that ONE MOVIE.
that ONE MOVIE they are born to make.
manam is that ONE MOVIE for all the technicians and artists worked here.
every single dialogue written by harshavardhan.
every single frame captured by ps vinod.
every single tune scored by anup rubens.
every single closeup of anr and nagarjuna.
every single idea of vikram k kumar.
man oh man,
every single aspect of this movie is magical.
this movie is meant to be beautiful.
10 years after release,
multiple rewatches later, i still cried today.
i cried with a big smile on my face.
i cried with a full heart.
as i told, sometimes the sole purpose of a movie is to be beautiful. manam is meant to be beautiful.
this is once in a lifetime movie for me.
i love you.
