DIFF 2025 - Funny, honest take on a man child!
Well shot and brimming with charm.
Director's cut with added pe(atn)is please.
Had the evacuate because of a fire in the theater but the parts I saw of it were good very heartwarming and comedic. I hope I can finish it eventually.
On the advice of her witchy neighbour, a widow builds a Golem to help her work the bog. Things go swimmingly until her useless man-child son starts feeling jealous.
Thank you to the filmmakers for joining us for a Q&A after the screening

An underappreciated Irish widow builds a magical creature to help her work the bog, but when she and the creature develop feelings for each other, her jealous son tries to destroy it. DIR/SCR Paudie Baggott; PROD Maggie Ryan. Ireland, 2024, color, 18 min. NOT RATED
Coming into this film completely blind actually makes the viewing experience better. You wouldn’t imagine a simple plot like this would take that route. Plus, the Irish humour definitely works here.
Magical realism is so underrated
