A homeless bum, bored of eating the same food every night, promises his girlfriend a special dinner. He plans to take her out with money robbed from a passing stranger. But the bum’s in for a surprise when the man he targets for his mugging turns out to have special – and hilarious – powers.

It is SO interesting to see early stuff from incredible directors. Pockets is an early work of The Daniels who are now well known for their Best Picture winning EEAAO, and other films such as Swiss Army Man. This short film shows glimpses of their oddball humor, amazing creativity, and quirky storytelling. I went in blind, not know who had directed or written this film, but after watching it, it became obvious.

My excitement for Everything Everywhere All At Once has yet again increased exponentially.
yeah this one was great. fast paced but surprisingly detailed and stupid yet shocking. Laughed out loud at this one too. Might be a fave tbh

God, I love the Daniels. This is a very very quick and silly summation of their shtick, and it's glorious- just a stupidly high concept fight scene done with their usual kinetic editing and absurd gagwork.
This is another short film from the Daniels (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan).
It is about a man, who decides to rob another man so he can buy expensive dinner for him and his girlfriend, but it proves more difficult than expected when the man he tries to rob turns out to have magic pockets.
This leads to an interesting and very creative fight scene with an unexpected ending, which asks the question: what are we gonna do without pockets?
