Some sweaty fuck walks around with a gun and a flashlight until another sweaty fuck spends the latter half of the movie taking the stinkiest exposition dump this side of the Mississippi. The one kill was okay though.
Slayed (2020) is a horror movie available on Amazon Prime, set at a water treatment plant in Arizona where a massacre occurred years ago. On Christmas Eve, with only a skeleton crew working, the original killer returns to resume the carnage.
Directed by and starring Jim Klock (Red Letters), the film also features Mike Capozzi (Secrets in the Woods), Coel Mahal (The Real Deal with Nancy), and Kyra Kennedy (Blue Bloods).
This movie is the definition of low-budget gone wrong. The script and acting are dreadful, and the killer Santa’s “Ho, Ho, Hos” fail to be creepy, coming off as hilariously cheesy instead. One standout moment of unintentional comedy involves a maintenance worker jumping into the water, swimming around, and emerging with a severed arm—a scene so absurd it had me laughing out loud.
Overall, Slayed is an absolute mess. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I’d give it a very weak 1.5/10.
Standard low budget xmas slasher. Doesn't try to be anything more. Uneven acting from a small cast but the main antagonist was a solid actor. There was some decent bloodshed. The runtime was brisk at only 73 mins. Whole film is pretty much shot at an old water plant. It's watchable but it's not one that's gonna crack the yearly xmas rotation.
Apparently shot in only 10 days during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Slayed is an enjoyable holiday slasher with an entertaining cast, some decent cinematography, some unintentionally funny moments here and there, and some decent-looking special effects! The story isn't really anything to write home about as it's really nothing you haven't seen before, except for the fact that this movie is taking place in a power plant, but I still had a lot of fun with it!
All in all, I'd say this microbudget indie Christmas gem is definitely one to put on your Christmas watchlist this year! Highly recommended if you're into this sort of thing!
On Christmas Eve, five years after a series of murders at an Arizona water treatment facility, tensions are high. One of the survivors of that night is determined to take out the killer who he is sure is coming back. The first half of this is pretty great. Creeping around the water treatment plant led to some good tension. Then the killer starts doing more, leading to an incredibly long villain monologue that goes on forever. The gore and effects were good, but the last third was not.

This was shockingly watchable. I was not going in with much expectation and it was for good reason, super low budget indie horror cheese. However this was fun throughout, the characters were fun, the dialog wasn't awful.
One of the characters speech at the end was worth it!
Definitely worth the watch.

For a low body count, the kills were pretty good. The characters are fun and well written. The actors are good and are having fun. Just a good Christmas slasher overall.
Apparently this was shot 10 days during the COVID 19 pandemic and what they gave us us a really enjoyable and entertaining Christmas horror movie this movie has an entertaining cast and some really unitentional funny moments this movies story is really nothing to write home about as it's nothing you have never seen before but all in all slayed is a fun and enjoyable indie Christmas horror gem that you should add to your watchlist this year.

I have seen a lot of really bad holiday horror the past eighteen days. And let me tell you, I thought Jack Frost was absolute shit but “Slayed ” takes the icing on the cake.

The ending is almost hilarious in how all over the place it is. The actual storyline is as predictable as my early morning BM.
Slayed was a low budget slasher that didn't slay anything worthwhile except my time.
The story was done in one location which was pretty cool. However the film overall was plagued with weak acting, cheap deaths, and slow build up. Plus the killer Santa trope has been played to death.
The reveal and twist was something out of Death Valley (1982) so it wasn't a surprise to me in seeing it. The film felt like it could've been more if given the chance and possibly higher budget to make it happen.
That said, this movie was an okay watch. Not a Christmas horror I'll come running back to anytime soon with other killer Santa movies that has done it better.
