Probably the most adorable post-apocalyptic story I've ever seen. Reminded me a bit of Wall-E. Space dogs, mutha mutha...
Was so high for this my eyeballs rolled out of my skull on I drooled on my dog and he turned to me and said “you are a shadow of your former self” and I blinked and then he was back to licking my toes and sniffing my butthole like a little freak I hate that guy anyways I thought this was pretty cool very good music
Fantasia International Film Festival screening!
A canine astronaut arrives on a planet to colourfully prepare it for his people's arrival. It's an unusual concept that doesn't come close to suggesting the stunning array of visuals offered over 16 minutes. Through a haze of CRT softness, Sunbelly is loaded with colour, movement, and creativity, whether that be circling in space in a dog-shaped ship and whizzing near the ground in a chase between a pod shaped like a dog's head and a robotic flea. This may be the most dazzling thing I see all year and I might just adore this.
Is this what happens when you give a dog acid, or maybe the result when you take acid and have a deep existential conversation with your dog???
I can honestly say I have never seen anything like this.
You ever just see art that you love so much that you have to scream into a pillow to get those feelings out? I give this a hearty pillow scream out of ten.
this is kinda awesome. wasn't quite with it for the opening bit, but it gets better. colorful, fun, weird, silly.
I can only imagine the size of the AfterEffects file. An amazing production and animation here!! Just the kind of worldbuilding I want in a SFF short.
