  First thought after I walked out of the theatre: y'all just hate fun. I had to say it and I'm free to be sued. Thaghut is atmospheric, repetitive, monotonous, predictable and just incredibly dumb. But this is my guilty pleasure. Bobby Prasetyo finally made a horror film that has the actual story than his previous works which only showcases shocks than suspense. This boasts a creepy and heebie-jeebies inducing story about devil worshippers and its heresy that is scary but honestly could have been scarier if they focused on creating the suspense than jumpscares. Some eerie sequences are nicely delivered. It is indeed brutal, but not gory.

  Their marketing is so ass for advertised this as a gory movie but…

  Thaghut succeeds in presenting stunning cinematography from the start, with an interesting point of view and a tense horror atmosphere. The actors, such as Yasmin Napper, Arbani Yaziz, and Ria Ricis, gave impressive performances, with Ricis presenting a fresh comedy element. This film presents a tense horror impression with jumpscares that are effective and not excessive.

  Even though it caused controversy because of its title and poster, Thaghut conveys a strong moral message about the importance of understanding religion correctly. However, some scenes and dialogue still feel less natural, although they are not too disturbing(big applauses for the acting skills)

  Sempat viral ini film yang berjudul kiblat karena kontroversi judulnya maka diganti judul menjadi Thaghut.
  Film nya serem, dan juga jumpscare nya bikin ngagetin, cerita tentang seorang Abah yang mempunyai ilmu sakti buat warga desa kampung nya, yang ternyata tiba tiba meninggal dan mewarisi ilmu setan ke anaknya.

  Yang paling gw suka pas si ibu manggil Rahmat di kebon jagung.. itu soundnya bisa gitu cuma sebelah kiri. Kemudian cuma sebelah kanan. Habis itu pas ibu datang baru duaar nyebar ke seluruh studio. Itu yang paling gw suka. Ga banyak scoring film horor yang gitu. Dulu pernah film apa gt gw lupa sampe gw nengok sebelah kanan/ kiri atas gw kira ada yang ngomong keras² dibelakang.

  Demit yang jilat² itu juga bagus. Kepala bapaknya kepenggal dengan bagus meski ternyata kepenggalnya kek kurang masuk akal. Sapi aja pake golok. Haha

  Dan yang masih jadi pertanyaan adalah sesuatu kek apa gitu ditutup kain di depan teras mushola..itu apa gt. Gw kira musholanya beneran jadi tempat ibadah warga kampung, trus kiblatnya kebalik…
