Shiva, the ageing business tycoon, bound to his wheelchair, sharing a strong bonding with his son Vishnu. Indulgent, while Vishnu whiles away his time with his cronies taking life easy. An action drama that’s watchable for the screenplay of KS Ravikumar and the terrific performance from Ajith in his triple roles, especially as the evil jeeva and as the Bharatnatyam dancer. He simply dominates the pre interval and the flashback portions with his brilliant acting. The first 45 minutes is quite tiring, but later the movie gets on track with strong dramatics, to end up as a good watch.

Brah the double meaning stuff at the start, all the sleazy stuff and the normalisation of r*pe really made me uncomfortable lol. I know it's stupid to call out a dated movie but this is beyond something I can let go😂.

Literally nothing happens for the first 40 mins , all you see is thala and gang chilling. Asin literally gives no shit about her fam as she forgives thala the very next call after he beats up her fam in front of her , lol . Asin's character is the actual person who needed…

I was warned to not watch this movie but I thought that since it was a blockbuster, it could not be that bad. Boy I was wrong.

Seriously, thala needs to get lauded for acting in transitional characters from the guilty father to the revenge-seeking son. His acting has coated out the corroded movie. Thala can pull out the anti-hero roles efficiently. Not gonna lie.
This film has not aged not well. The innumerable songs which are packed into the narrative gave me a headache. What makes this watchable is the presence of Thala especially his scene stealing turn as a Bharatnatyam dancer
i know calling out bullshit in old cinema looking through today's moral lens is not always correct but making a rapist look heroic is where i draw the line. sucks big time because Ajith is super awesome in this
having seen this, i can now imagine the driving factor behind Ajith's strong resolve in making Nerkonda Paarvai. it cannot just be the promise he gave to Sridevi
