This is another "nobody cares about this movie so I'm writing a review to a show of the same title because Letterboxd doesn't respect television"
"You" season 1 on netflix.
For as repulsive as the main character Joe is, the show always puts him in situations in which he's objectively in the right. In some instances, this adds nuance, like with Joe being so caring toward his young neighbor, Paco.
The internal monologue plays a major role in this. Of course, Joe is going to think all the stalking and the bad stuff he does is okay, and completely justified. Simultaneously, constantly hearing Joe's thoughts puts this show in the first person, and immediately makes him an unreliable narrator.

Disappointed and saddened by the way it ended. The most interesting character is killed off and there's no satisfying backstory to Candace's story, not watching another season only for that, heard that the 4th season is pretty lame. I think I'm gonna follow the book instead.
The first sitting was a total masterpiece, I don't know what I'd have felt if I finished at one go. That Paco could've saved her life though, I really wish he'd have done it. The second sitting was mostly average. Didn't really live up to my expectations. Anyways not a bad show but yes my favourite character is no longer there so not watching any of this show anymore.

A whodunit is fun. I am not complaining. I think it’s fun to watch Joe the Murderer turn int Joe the Detective, who also murders.
However, I don’t think Joe Goldberg, now Jonathan Moore in his Londonsona, is a character that works with this revolving-cast-each-season format. Joe needs a Saul Goodman style exit. He’s a character that never truly answered for his crimes. The only redemption Joe can have is through his confession. Poetic justice only works when the perpetrator is not a repeat offender. Season 3 had some poetic justice when his obsession with Love turned against him. His former obsessions turned to murder victims flips on him when his obsession tries to…
Since others are using this to review Netflix show You, I do too. It would be cool if it became a thing.
Anyway, the show is good. It really makes you root against the main character at times. And then suck you in and forget who he is ... just to break it off so you root against him again.
