One of the better war movies.
This was my second watch. unfortunately, once you know the story, you see all the little faults. A guy loses literally his entire bottom half. Like from abdomen down, and is seen dragged away screaming.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that I really like what this movie does.
It pokes fun at standard horror flicks while cramming in a fair amount of gore.

Once Upon a Time in China 1991
I fell asleep, but that’s my fault.
The bits I saw were mixed. Interesting seeing the story from a Chinese perspective. At times it was overtly racist, but hey, western films have done the same.
Feels like it could have been shortened, and the plot was a bit all over the place at times.
Interesting culturally speaking, the plot was fine, some of the acting was diabolically bad.
I don’t think I’ll be watching it again but it was worth watching once.
