  Lee Daniels gets off by creating ghetto caricatures of Black women and calling it cinema. Now he is doing the same with white and mixed race women in this Tyler Perry-“Jesus Saves”-esque excuse of a horror movie. 

  Glossing over child abuse, alcohol addiction, and dysfunction to focus on the demon in the closet with cheap jump-scares. The story falls apart a lot and we are left to wonder about the flow and sensibility of everything. 

  On the positive- Demi Singleton is one of the best things about this film. Her acting was believable and also human instead of a stereotypical hood-rat like almost everyone else.
