If "The Irishman" was the main feast of Thanksgiving, then "Knives Out" is the dessert.

In all seriousness, "Knives Out" is proof that you don't need action or quips to make a fun movie, and that Rian Johnson is an excellent writer (fight me on "The Last Jedi", I dare you). It's just great to watch a politically divided family implode like this.

Perhaps I'm just out-of-the-loop, but I expected this to get quite a bit of crap from that toxic anti-feminist side of film culture. Aside from that one sort-of heist scene, Elizabeth Banks' "Charlie's Angels" pales in comparison to the exciting films it clearly takes inspiration from.

The only problem with "Joker" is that it's about The Joker.
What's strange is, on it's own, being about The Joker doesn't make this film worse necessarily. But it has warped people's perception of what this film is.

I'm really not sure what to make of this one.
On one hand, this was a very fitting finale to the Marvel franchise. The way it treated its characters, story, climax, and even end credits, it felt like a great final installment to a long running film series.
On the other hand, this isn't the last Marvel movie. We're gonna get another Spider-Man, another Guardians, and likely another Black Panther at least. And…
