i think the movie is based around the saying “a tough pill to swallow” the tough pills being both literal (the weird ass objects she eats) and figurative (struggles with home life, unattentive husband, loneliness, motherhood etc.). Once she faces these difficult parts of her life by leaving her husband and confronting the man that raped her mother, then the abortion pills become the easiest pills to swallow because she has taken more control over her path in life/the way…
