I thought I would start filling in some of my gaps of David Lynch's filmography ever since I heard of the news of his passing a couple of days ago. I heard David describe this film as "his most experimental film" and if you hear that after watching Eraserhead and think: "How can you get more experimental than Eraserhead?" Well, it's experimental in the sense that he's taking a simple, straightforward story and he really explores it.

A part of me wishes this film was a bit longer so I could linger in the atmosphere of this film. I love how brutal it was; nobody was safe, not even the little children. At first I wasn't so sure about Count Orlok's pornstache, but the more I thought about it when considering how Bram Stoker described Dracula in the book and how Robert Eggers explained that you would be very hard pressed to find an aristocrat in the olden days of Romania without a mustache, the more it made total sense to me. I had a great time with this film.
This goes in a different direction than Fury Road, but goddamn I loved the ever living shit out of this! 5/5 stars for me.
What a cheesy, low budget, schlocky film... I loved it! The movie does what it says on th tin, there's a man that melts in an incredible way, while killing people. I enjoyed Rick Baker's effects of the goopy man. There were some legitimately nice performances and some so bad they're good performances. I was entertained throughout the whole film. Definitely a film that screams 1970s to me. Fun silly film that's not afraid to wear its goofiness on its sleeve. 3/5 stars with a big sloppy like ❤
