This was a really good film for horror fans who like their films settling around Halloween. I thought the set design and art direction was a bit overdone and hyper-stylized but it was spot on if that’s what the intention was by the filmmakers. The story was a bit thin and the acting of the parents a little stiff and one dimensional but gets us through the film. The boy is the best part of this and I’d look forward…

I really didn’t have a lot of expectations coming into this film except some excitement at what a new filmmaker could add to an uncharted timeline in this overly exploited series. David Jonsson who plays ANDY was that. His performance stole the show for me and brought a depth and weight to a through line character that matches Fassbender, Holm and Henrikson’s portrayal of the Weyland-Yutani Corps “synthetic”. I only wish that the rest of the films storyline and characters could have been just as elevated. Jonsson is remarkably memorable in an otherwise forgettable “money grab” installment.
