Thea Gajic directs SURVIVING EARTH in absolutely lights out fashion while Slavko Sobin delivers one hell of a performance. There’s a lot of really love about this film, but it’s underwritten and fails to truly capitalize on the the strong foundation it possesses. Nevertheless, an incredible feature debut from Gajic who was magical with the camera.

A strange instance where more alcohol provides an opportunity to fix all of your past mistakes. I just wish the film was as fun as the premise. In fact, ONE MORE SHOT, is a bit of a drag to get through. The jokes fall flat, the characters are unbearable, and it just doesn’t come together even if the third act tries its best to save it all.

The structure of a great satire is there but there just isn’t anything to bring it all together. Too much distraction throughout the film derails an otherwise wonderfully comedic Alex Wolff and the story hiding just under the surface.

I wanted to root harder for this film but it felt too distracted for its own good. Montages, voiceovers, and erratic editing pushed the pacing too far for an already overlong movie.
