Memories of Murder 2003
Great film, reminds a bit of Fincher’s Zodiac (being how the real life cases are somewhat similar). The performances from the cast are great and I really appreciate the use of visual storytelling Bong Joon Ho uses. That ending just left me there thinking.

The Thing 1982
I really like the setting of this film, with the group all isolated out in Antarctica. The practical effects are well done, and the score is great too. The plot is terrifying and fun to watch at the same time. If they spent a little more time fleshing out the characters, I would have rated this 5 stars.

The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
The use of all the vivid colors with the already unique cinematography and switching back and forth of the aspect ratios, elevates this films already fascinating story to another level, not to mention the amazing dialogue delivered by a brilliant cast.

The Evil Dead 1981
The cinematography is fun and the gore is very effective. There are some decent jump scares but nothing crazy. I don’t really get what’s so special here to be honest, I didn’t really care about any of the characters and the story was mediocre in my opinion. Did not enjoy this film really. I’m hoping the second film is a lot better like everyone says.
