While Your Monster falls into the formulaic pattern of romcom tropes, it still has enough daring surprises and moves to keep you engaged. I enjoy a 'good for her' ending, and this absolutely nails that. Unhinged and vengeful.

Nickel Boys wasn't a movie. It was an experience. A memory. An ode. The decision to film in pov was excellent. It puts you there. You can't shy away from the atrocities. You can't ignore them. You can't distance yourself. They're happening to you and you will choke on the fear, despair, and injustice until all you see is void.

I loved how Priscilla was unafraid to take risks. When whispers of this film started to come out, there were countless articles, videos, and think pieces from Elvis fans nearly rabid in their blind faithfulness and loyalty- some even blaming Priscilla for flirting back and pursuing a relationship. It turns my stomach to see the lengths people will go to in order to defend someone they adore, even when that person does something horrific.
