  props to Marisa for even attempting this movie but I honestly think this could’ve been something close to a Priscilla level movie if it was in better hands. This needed better direction, more research into her life other than Amy’s makeup routine, and better screenplay. Oof but also Jack O’Connell was a GREAT Blake. Best scenes were when they were together. The flirty Shangri-La jukebox scene was the peak. Everything else was pretty mid.

  POV: privileged neo-liberal white filmmaker at NYU (or USC it doesn’t matter it just needs to be just as privileged) just finished his senior thesis and hits up his uncle who’s the executive at Netflix to distribute his film cause he can AND MAKES MILLIONS OF PEOPLE SIT THROUGH HIS EMPTY MUSINGS OF HOLLYWOOD, FILMS, AUTHENTICITY, WHITE GUILT, TRAUMA, AND MAC & CHEESE.
