Velvet Goldmine 1998

I really expected to like this more than I did. But Velvet Goldmine attempts to say so much to the point where's it's not able to fully articulate anything. It's spread so thin. Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor were good, but that's not enough to carry the film.

My introduction to Gregg Araki. I expected this to be dark, but holy shit, I don't think I've ever been more uncomfortable while watching a movie. One of those films you don't necessarily have fun watching, but are incredibly well crafted. This'll be sitting in my mind for a while.
