  I cry a lot in films. I don't think I've ever cried without really knowing why in a film. This lacks the narrative clarity and structure of other Ghibli greats like Howl's or Mononoke, but it is laden with the soul and heart that makes Ghibli films resound so much with people.

  Excellently shot, directed and scored. Both leads put in a strong acting performance. Plot struggles slightly by both showing too much and too little of his life. We see struggles and arguments with little time developed to show the issues beneath. We meet various lovers and people, but few have satisfying resolutions. Is all a bit wild and racing.
