“The question is, do you have it in you to make it epic?” George Miller is a Mad Man. I loved this.

This film will be scrutinized a lot specifically because everyone will instantly compare it to Fury Road, but Miller crafted a very different film here. Fury Road was a guzzoline fueled shot of adrenaline that keeps an incredible speed right from the very start. Furiosa is a grand, methodical epic, that slowly builds it's tension and stakes and becomes…

Was a Real Pain to watch this terribly superficial, annoying film that becomes exactly what it critiques; a deeply americanized, shallow, self centered view on heritage and the terrible history it attempts to talk about. Also Kieran Culkin is not the POV character but he is definitely the lead and should not have won the Oscar for supporting actor. Not much I liked about this at all. A deeply unimaginative film that talks a lot but doesn’t say much, especially visually.

A visually stunning film with an elegant, incredibly beautiful score and amazing subdued performances. Marion Cotillard is naturally great, but it is the lead Clara Pacini who is by far the standout here. She holds her face in such a static, but elegant position that makes it incredibly meaningful when she moves her face or even just her eyes. This film stays reserved and never becomes too loud for it‘s own good. The dynamics explored here are super interesting. It‘s…

Just watched this at a Berlinale screening.

I loved how the film played with morally gray areas that gave the film an interesting emotional complexity.

The sound design and cinematography created a very real feel, which pulled you into the film.

The first two thirds were really good but didn’t blow me away but the last third and the finale was incredible.

Add to that great performances by the whole cast.

    Incredible film. Amazing Debut.
