I'm truly not sure how I feel about this. For a film (and director) that understand so much about the human condition, and spends so much of the run time navigating the subject matter with elegance and nuance, it kind of just sucks that it ends on a note that seems to romanticise the age gap. The climax just feels sort of tasteless, for me it undermined what they've built up through the whole film to be this complicated but…
