  Who is this movie for? 

  I’m unconvinced that this will convert the uninitiated into Dylan fans, but I’m not sure that’s the goal. This also surely won’t appeal to Dylan loyalists when we already far better films made about the legend himself. 

  Upon reflection, I think this is a naked attempt to finally get Timothee his Oscar by appealing to Academy voters who like to point and smile at things they recognize.

  Something Wild 1961

  I really liked this when I first saw it almost a decade ago, but I was clearly going through a Ralph Meeker phase and he could do no wrong in my eyes. 

  Upon rewatching it, I found it all at once ambitious, dull, shocking, progressive, regressive and tedious. As many people have mentioned, the first half is an effective portrait of a survivor, while the second half is a sickening romance (?). Definitely an interesting curio from this period.
