Undoubtedly one of the best romance films I have ever watched, if only for the incredible sensitivity it shows to every character. Marty, Clara, Teresa and Catherine are real, whole people, because of and despite their loneliness.

The movie quite literally ends with a guy leaving his fiancee at the altar so he can be with his boy best friend...and then the two of them hang out with his grandfather and his grandfather's lifelong (male) partner while talking about how stupid you'd have to be to marry a woman?? At some point you can't call it gay subtext anymore, it just becomes text.
