I enjoyed this, but I found it a deeply weird film. Is Gosling a parody of the silent protagonist lone wolf male protector? Or is he a 100% actual cool dude™? Both?
A lot of great visual metaphors, a nice soundtrack (why so loud though?), a few nice chase scenes, and the elevator scene is great, etc. Major noir vibes that extend to the caricature characters, but it still manages to hang together in an interesting way.
