“Into the spiderverse” was like nothing we’d ever seen before. It opened the floodgates for other studios and streams of stylised animation kept coming in its wake. However “Across the spiderverse” has raised the bar once again.
I’ll be surprised if there’s a film this year that’s better than this. The bar hasn’t just been raised, it’s been slung into space by a cosmic catapult.
Everyone was on their A-game here. The art direction feels like staring at a kaleidoscopic art gallery, characters are deep but grounded, and the score sounds like Mozart on Dominic Fike’s magic mushrooms. Simply put, everyone should see this.
