  must say i'm kind of surprised by the cold reactions to this, it completely strays away from the generic beats usually found in the genre. found it to be a movie with very impressive fluidity all around, rightly focused on a specific time, place, and dynamics. all the (great) performances relying on each other in harmony, with the music (i never want to see lip syncs ever again!!) driving the narrative beats and being the language.

  classical in every sense. that must have been why the idiots at warner thought it should go straight to streaming, but it is precisely the antidote to films with these premises that are on streaming today lol.
