Doctor Who: The Daleks 1964
Conceptually a perfect follow-up to An Unearthly Child and a great introduction to one of the most iconic villains in sci-fi. And in many respects, the contrast between the Thals and Daleks becoming the catalyst for The Doctor to become the character he is today? Great stuff. However, this 3 hour story would have greatly benefit from an hour being axed from the runtime. Preferably from the latter half where the story takes an abrupt turn into quest fantasy?

To get the elephant out of the room, yes, the first episode is truly one of the best pilots of any series, and most will attest to that. However, the other 3 episodes are really overhated in my opinion. While you could easily shave a whole episode of caveman melodrama, there is still good here.
