  The Place Beyond the Pines 2012

  A stunning film that is almost mythic and yet feels utterly real and true. I saw the trailers but hadn't read any reviews and that was the best way to see it. For the last 90 minutes my jaw almost dropping with amazement. Great music, stupendous acting, wonderful visual look. Riveting in every way. A great American film.

  BTW, "The Place Beyond the Pines" is the Native American name for Schenectady, NY, where the story takes place.
