Neon Genesis Evangelion 1995
this was a genuine chore to watch for the first 15 or so episodes, partly because of the blatant sexualisation of children. i don't see how going to the extent that this show did was necessary for the story at any point, and it just made me dislike the main character even more. that said, it really does pick up in the latter half, specifically episode 20 onwards. i wish the majority of the anime steered it in that direction alone without the filler parts that were weird and boring at best. overall, decent 7/10.

okay, just finished my second proper rewatch of season two, and i must say: compared to the first one, this honestly kind of sucks... and this is coming from me (<— has spent many a dollar on arcane merchandise, forever to take up space in my room).
to be less harsh, it doesn’t flat out suck as much as it is a mixed bag. the more time goes by after having first watched season two, the more sour the taste…
