Heat 1995
What more can be said about a film of this magnitude? The quintessential Heist film, and my favorite Heist film. Many have come before it, many have come after it. But this 1 consistently tops the list. Michael Mann at his directorial best. De Niro and Pacino on screen together for the first time. With a great ensemble cast that includes the likes of Val Kilmer, William Fichtner, Tom Sizemore, and so many other. Some have described this as an Epic, perhaps they're right.

Law Abiding Citizen 2009
No legal system is perfect, you can watch any Legal film to see that. This film takes that notion and completely flips it on its head. Jamie Foxx is a good lead as the prosecutor who knows the system doesn't work, but does what he can to find justice. Gerard Butler is the Big Bad who the system has failed, but decides to do something about it. A very intriguing and thought provoking film, kudos to Butler for his Evil Genius role.

The Three Musketeers 1993
There have been many adaptations of this story. And yes, I acknowledge that this 1 is considered bottom of the barrel. It's cheesey, doesn't have a single person from France in it, and is universally panned by critics. Yet, it does have a shine to it. Tim Curry is clearly relishing his role as Big Bad Armand Plessis. And the 4 Heroes portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, Charlie Sheen, and Chris O'Dowd play well off eachother. You get the same feel as Pirates of The Caribbean, exactly 10 years before P.O.C. was released. Perhaps this film was ahead of its time?

Mission: Impossible 1996
Long before it became the stunt fest that will inevitably kill Tom Cruise, the Mission: Impossible franchise was a contender for James Bond. A modern Spy story that captivated viewers. Based off the T.V. series of the same name, we have Cruise's Ethan Hunt. The usual Maverick associated with Cruise. We do have classic Spy elements; nifty gadgets, chase sequences, a killer final showdown, and even the classic meeting on a dark foggy bridge. A good start to a franchise that has unfortunately been taken over by its star.
