The Jar 1984
I'm so grateful to live in era where film restoration is so popular, and leads to people dredging up these forgetten movies and giving them a new life. I was fortunate enough to get to see this in a theater with the director, writer, and lead actor, who talked about the movie some after it was done. A theme of their discussion that kept coming up was the relationship between movies as an art, and as a business.

Phantom of the Paradise 1974
Insane movie. Scream Screen events at the Sie are always great, but tonight was especially amazing. It felt really special to be able to see the original cut and with the intended title, Phantom. This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Really good. I came into this very blind but had seen some discussion online about Zionism in The Brutalist. Making a statement on Zionism doesn't feel like the thematic priority, but rather examining how Israel is the result of the continued…

Time Masters 1982
This is really, really cool. The animation can feel a little stiff at times, particularly with faces, but the voices and art style are imbued with so much charm that it's honestly not noticeable once you acclimate - the plot happens so quickly and is filled with so many wild happenings that it just sucks you in tight away. There is actually a point where the stiffness in the animation actually ends up really complementing the story. The movie isn't…
