    Saw this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. At first I thought the movie was gonna drag the surprise of “she’s a robot!!!” out way too far since it’s already used in the morning, but they mention it early enough that it’s not an issue. I was more impressed about how they kept building past this, and the plot remaining interesting and surprising enough for the whole film.

    Mickey-17 is a fun little sci-fi adventure where Robert Pattinson is both an incredible lead and supporting actor. He really is the life blood of the film and loved him finally playing a role that felt strange and awkward, his bag of characters in incredibly deep.     Didn’t expect this to be so similar to Evangelion in message and theming, but makes sense. Anno has always had a hatred for gooning.

    Really liked all the wacky ways they would incorporate their shots, from beer cams to revolving train cams. 

    Wanted to like it more, but considering how long it took for me to warm up to the Eva movie, I wouldn’t be surprised if I came back to this and found more to enjoy.
