Very stylish mystery with a plodding, methodical pace reflecting the calculating nature of Michael Fassbender's lead character. If any more methodically paced, though, I'd find it boring.
Some great performances from Marisa Abela, Regé-Jean Page and Naomie Harris, especially. Unfortunately, the chemistry between Fassbender and Blanchett just wasn't convincing enough. This movie is just fun. Action, mystery, glamour, lots of recognizable LA locations for residents and philes alike... it's all there.
Ryan Gosling exudes rakish charisma as always, and Russell Crowe provides a satisfyingly grumpy foil. I do also love Angourie Rice as the Penny to Ryan's Inspector Gadget.
It's easy to tell Clint Eastwood directed this corny offering which pats itself on the back for taking on "tough questions" about duty, family, and so on.
The premise is so thin and the dilemma so pointless. The juror thinks he may have hit the victim with his car, after hearing the facts of the case, when he thought up til then it was a deer he hit that ran off. Ok? So... just stop thinking that, then? There is…

Aside from the acting and costumes, the…
