  The camera work…..FUUUCK. A 45 minute take!? This was unlike any body horror I’ve ever seen. So visceral, the pearls were clinched.

  So fucking underrated. Coppolla was so intentional in all her decisions from the post punk soundtrack to the Converse product placement, Marie Antoinette was a teenager! The girlie was partying..she was frivolous as hell but she rlly didn’t know better. For her to be so laissez-faire in the midst of France’s economic crisis was a strong political statement that Coppola portrayed without having to show more details about the revolution itself. The movie was about Marie Antoinette and her world (blissfully out of touch).  This at times felt like a long music video that blended Rococo with Indie Sleaze aesthetics and I’m here for it.

  WOWOWOWOW

  I’ve been anticipating the Egger’s treatment of Nosferatu for so long and he delivered on the promise of a goth masterpiece. The shadowy transitions, the long pans, the doorway symmetry, and the dark, cook palette makes for a maze-like viewing. 

  Lily-Rose Depp is totally hypnotic, her performance reminded me a lot of Isabel Adjani’s Possession. Her contortions, her expressions, the deep sorrow in her eyes, come on now. I literally couldn’t look away from the screen when she was…
