The Brutalist 2024
Like Brutalism itself, this film is a towering, stark deconstruction of the American dream that has probably never been more relevant. It is dark, bleak but filled with a deep artistic passion that acts as a guiding light for our main character despite the atrocities committed against him (and immigrants as a whole) by people in positions of power.
The scene in the marble labyrinth will haunt me for the rest of my life. At the end of the day this film is a hell of a lot more than just another arthouse project - it's a survival story.
