Felt like I was watching a Paulo Coelho novel.

Based on an actual battle in the War in Afghanistan, but feels derivative of every other desperate-surrounded-soldiers sort of war film made before it, and two in particular: “Zulu” (the local auxiliaries fleeing at the start of the battle, a brief scene of Eastwood grudgingly visiting the aid station for a superficial wound and quietly contemplating the carnage, the characters being shown post combat detailing the decorations that they individually received) and “Saving Private Ryan”, especially that film's final battle…
This feature length piece of puff tries very hard to make David Foster out to be some ultra-influential, other-level pop music genius, which he is not. My biggest takeaway from this movie was that Kevin Costner is a more talented music producer than this ding dong. I wrongly assumed that one of David’s many daughters must have made this movie because of the unrelenting fawning that goes on.
One and a half stars for his mom's t-shirts and then a half star for Tim Meadows' wig.
