  i watched this a whole bunch of times about ten years ago and cried the whole time and i just thought i related because i grew up nearby and had fundamentalist religious family and it did not occur to me at all that i might also be nonbinary. So i tried to get everybody in my life to watch it thinking they would also find it this profoundly relatable (they did not).

  can't believe i had never heard of this piece of CanCon before.

  some elements of it reminded me of Rock n Roll Nightmare (also Canadian) but i thought it was mostly quite a bit better (Nightmare is mostly terrible until the end when it's awesome)

  also how many times do i see a movie, think it's actually pretty interesting and wonder why i've never heard of it, then find out it flopped so bad it almost bankrupted the studio? it's kind of a lot
