A Fistful of Dollars 1964
I’m college I did study abroad in Italy and I wrote a paper on this film, charting its music to argue it fit sonata form - exposition, development, recapitulation. The introductory Melodie’s and motifs return at the end, while the middle/development of the film contains new ideas and developments of those introductory pieces.
My professor thought it was cool and said I could probably present it at a theory conference but I never did that. Thank you to the person I cited who’d transcribed a bunch of the motifs and gave me the idea to dive into this.
