The King's Speech 2010
I applaud Tom Hooper for making a film about a monarch without focusing on the glitz and glamour of the aristocracy. Intentional or not, this is something I don't see often so that was quite a refreshing perspective

Blade Runner 2049 2017
The story was much easier to follow than in the 1980s film but it didn't subtract from the emotional weight. I prefer the purple-blue color palette and the gritty, industrial feel of the previous movie though.
The scene when K and the woman in the bubble meet for the first time will stay in my mind for a long time.
