  said I would watch the first bit and then finish it later but I ended up going through the whole thing because it was insane and really good. I now have a better understanding of the fundamental aesthetics around natal horror. I feel like there was a lack of biology in it, like, there definitely could have been more yonic visual motifs, but the use of architecture and color theory were really good. The pacing ruled. Some basic horror tropes…

  it was aesthetically really pretty but a completely falsified recreation of the rape of a teenager. It deeply goes against the entire purpose of her painting depicting the beheading of her rapist, and ignores the account of her trying to fend him off via knife. The cinematography was good but jfc I would have really preferred a true crime thriller than a string-swelling romance adaptation comprised of historical inaccuracies.
  I mean, even in the torture scene the actress isn't allowed to screw up her face bc it would take away the 'O' look. I'm incensed.
