Women Talking 2022
Outstanding performance all around, and beautifully shot with a subtle yet effective use of semi-saturated light. The picture was shot in color, but its color palette is so subdued that at points it may easily be mistaken for black and white. The cinematography in this picture deserved an Oscar nomination (did not get one). The camera work, lighting, color, and framing used to create the scenes are stunning. The Father 2020
This movie was driven by the excellence of the performance. Anthony Hopkins gave one of the best performances I’ve ever seen of him. A very relatable story for anyone who has experienced a love one with dementia or Alzheimer. A drama that gave me chills. The movie is portrayed mostly from the POV of the person suffering the disease which makes it engaging, confusing, and remarkably outstanding. A story full of love that reminded of my own mortality.
